The Prosperous Heart – What is it?

Like The Artist’s Way, it is a personal ‘change management’ program. It offers the structured, disciplined approach of The Artist’s Way, to uncovering what your obstacles are to feeling prosperous.

Resilience can be learned; the tools are outlined over twelve simple chapters.

The weekly assigned Prosperity Points begin a “sleuthing exercise”. You will become clear that “prosperity” and “abundance” are not about money.

The Morning Pages are a daily writing practice that clears the mind of distractions and anxieties, freeing up space to creatively embrace change.

Exercising the disciplines of Counting and Abstinence, you achieve both mental and financial clarity; your money habits will come into light.

Equally important are the habits of Walking and Time-Outs. Two twenty-minute walks weekly and two five-minute tine-outs daily will provide “an escape from the frantic pace” of your life and “time for self-appraisal and self-approval”.

It becomes a program for life. Empowered by tools which keep you deliberately & intentionally focused, you will come to rely upon them. They deliver the insights and impetus you need to become and remain debt-free and resilient.

The Prosperous Heart

You will:

  • become less anxious

  • deal with the root cause of your money worries

  • break down the emotional blocks to financial success

  • be able to budget for the future

  • begin to take measure of your own true worth

Most significantly, you will become confident that you can manage future financial changes in your life.

The process ensures that no longer useful survival skills are left behind. Transformed, they become tomorrow’s “thrival” skills.

How does the process work?

It doesn’t, you do!

The author’s intention was that you and others would come together in small peer groups and work through the chapters together.

Begin with the book. Adopt the practice of daily Morning Pages and the specific tools of each program: the weekly Artist Date for The Artist’s Way; CountingWalking and Time-outs for the work of The Prosperous Heart.

When you are ready to begin, read each chapter thoughtfully and do all of the assignments. You can preview the course here.

Why consider a facilitated group?

Structured regular meetings provide a framework to support completed assignments and peer encouragement to take two hours “refilling the creative well”, the point of the Artist Date.

You come to understand that your fears and negative self-talk are not your unique obstacles to change. Other group members and the facilitator have been where you are.

The facilitator is not a teacher rather, a catalyst:

  • you do the work

  • you uncover the obstacles to changing your life

  • you develop the skills to overcome them

  • It is hard work.  The group is there support you:

  • in a nurturing and challenging space

  • guided by an experienced career counselor

  • with an ever expanding network of like-minded people

You now also have the option of doing the Artist’s Way work with the author on-line. I encourage you to consider it.

Creating a Life of #Enough by embracing a mindset of abundance & learning to manage money mindfully!

Groups launch every three months

Prosperity is not a bank balance. It is a state of mind. We will finish this course having redefined just what it means to have 'enough'.

Why is that important? "It's about being satisfied..."

At the peak of his wealth, John D. Rockefeller, a businessman deemed to be the wealthiest American of all time, was worth 1% of the US economy.

When asked "How much is enough?" he responded: "Just a little bit more."

Wealth for him - and most of us - is about a number that confers status, a sense of security, perhaps even power.

To quote Cameron: The prosperous heart recognizes that prosperity is a spiritual bottom line, not a fiscal one.

Over 12 weeks we'll get clarity and embrace skills to create a life of enough. We will confront our habits and attitudes around money - and straighten out our finances.

We will do that - slowly, gently, and methodically - adopting tools and a structure to make and sustain changes that ensure "a satisfying and secure present and future".

You will:

  • Enjoy a disciplined and structured approach, encouraged by feedback and guidance from an experienced facilitator and your peers.

  • Employ new tools that allow you to maintain your progress and take on new challenges in the future.

  • Develop gentle and affirming self-talk while silencing the inner critic who has been holding you back.

  • Participate in twelve facilitated group sessions + two individual coaching calls - with an open invitation to repeat the group process at any time by joining a new cohort in the future.

  • Have an open invitation to our ongoing, weekly “Maintaining Momentum” Office Hours to support your continued progress.

  • Get early access to new courses on any books in the series at a significantly discounted rate.
